Valparaiso Indiana WeddingValparaiso Indiana wedding Aberdeen ManorThis photo of Sarah & Tyler walking out from their wedding ceremony sums up the whole day for me. If I had to choose one word to describe their wedding it would be joy.

I arrived about an hour early to start photographing details and the room at Aberdeen Manor. It’s a habit for me, I’m generally early. Aberdeen Manor is always set up well before most bridal parties arrive and I enjoy working here for that and so many other reasons. It’s always great to have time to capture the details like the floating cake and the reception room. This left me all my time to focus on the dress and shoes and bridal party details when they arrived.

It may be hard to believe but this photo of Sarah’s shoes was on the dance floor. It was a freezing cold day and I decided to stay indoors as much as possible. With the right light and low depth of field, even far smaller spaces can look great haha. I may have been a little obsessed with these shoes. Brides wedding day shoesRev. Doug Klukken was the officiant at the ceremony in the little chapel. I always enjoy weddings with Rev. Doug Klukken. He has a way of making every wedding ceremony deeply personal, and very funny while maintaining the serious nature of the vows and event.

Rev. Doug KlukkenThe reception was crazy fun! Mike from Trans Audio DJs kept the dance floor packed and there were some crazy shenanigans as the night progressed. I love capturing these candid moments. Most photographers are long gone by the time the crazy starts at weddings. I like to stay and capture some of it at least haha.
