The Uptown Centre Michigan City is a very unique wedding venue.

It was once home to an 1867 historic theatre.  The architecture has been restored and offers a stunning two-story ballroom with a 40-foot dome ceiling.

Uptown Centre offers bride & groom private dressing rooms, a huge U-shaped balcony overlooking the grand ballroom, an elegant secluded outdoor brick courtyard, a private reception bar, all located in the heart of the Uptown Arts District in Michigan City Indiana along the shores of Lake Michigan.  The main beach and lighthouse are not more than a mile away and offers endless opportunities for creative photography.

I have personally never seen a venue staff transform a room as fast, effectively and yet beautifully. The ceremony area is converted to the reception area during cocktail hour while guests are in the bar area and have no idea how busy the room is.
