Macedonian Wedding Valparaiso
Courtney and Stojan were married a few weeks ago at the Macedonia Church in Crown Point Indiana. The longer I photograph weddings, the more I love different cultures. I have photographed a few Macedonian weddings now and have a good handle on the day.
Macedonian weddings start at the grooms house with dancing and food. This wedding was no different.
After the dancing and festivities everyone moved on to the church for a traditional orthodox wedding ceremony. The rich colors and history of the service added to the deep emotions and love these two showed all day. Courtney was glowing as she walked down the aisle to her groom.
After the ceremony the bridal party met at Ogden Gardens in Valparaiso for some formal photos and a little down time before the reception at The Market. Ogden Gardens is a great choice for any wedding party to stop over and visit for photos. As long as no one has it booked for a wedding though. We arrived just as another wedding had ended and they were all leaving thankfully.
The reception was at The Market in Valparaiso. It’s a wonderful venue with a rustic look and feel.
The reception was full of traditional Macedonian dancing and hours of celebration.
Here are some of my favorite photos from the day.
