Friendship Botanical Gardens Wedding
Amelia & Brenden chose a wonderful outdoor venue for their ceremony. Friendship Botanical Gardens is a hidden gem in Michigan city that can host both a ceremony and reception. Amelia and Brenden had their ceremony here outside in the beautiful covered garden area. The gardens were in full bloom and despite it being a hot day, the gentle breeze through the garden was all that we needed to stay comfortable.
I was so glad to have a bit of time to be creative with some detail photos and after about ten minutes of waiting, a bee decided to land on the flower with the rings.
Military weddings are always fun to photograph. There is a strong bond between people in military service, and a strong set of traditions and values. These bonds and traditions add to each wedding. I loved the way these men set up an arch at the back of the ceremony for the bride and groom.
They were also willing to set up a few fun posed photos afterwards.
The reception was a short drive away at Sand Creek Country Club. Sand Creek is always wonderful for receptions, and when timed well, offers stunning sunsets.
We had a 15 minute window of time during dinner and snuck outside for about 10 minutes to capture a few quick sunset photos. Despite some crazy rain in the morning and some dramatic clouds all afternoon, the sky reward us with some color. These two would look great against any background, but this sky was an awesome addition.
Thanks to the DJ’s from Arrested Sounds the dance floor was packed all night. I think more weddings need glow sticks haha.
Here is a gallery of some favorite photos from the day.
