Arin and Michael had a wonderful late fall Aberdeen Manor Ballroom wedding. I have known Erin for several years. When I moved from Zimbabwe to the USA in 2006, her family was one of the first families I met. It was such an honor when Arin reached out and asked me to photograph her wedding. I have watched her grow from the middle schooler I met to a lovely young woman.
The weather had been a bit wet for a few days before their wedding. On wedding day it was a very last minute call to have their ceremony outdoors. A huge advantage of any Aberdeen Manor Ballroom Wedding is that there is a wonderful outdoor area for ceremonies, and they have the cute chapel too. On more than one wedding I have photographed here, we have run inside the chapel last minute due to weather. The staff is always so good at transitioning.
I was personally happy to be outside, despite a little breeze with a crisp feel. The light was soft and the garden area always photographs well.
Pastor Dan Kuiper officiated a very personal ceremony. Like me, Dan has know Erin and her family for several years.
One draw back to late fall weddings is the very early sunset. WE had to race through the formal photos in near darkness by the end. This did however give us some great dramatic light for some photos at the end of the family photos.
Here are some favorite photos from the rest of the day.
